CITADEL Alert — Life Safety

Mass Notification & Emergency Communication

In-house designed and installed mass notification — integrated with fire, access, intrusion, and video — and backed by a UL 827 and TMA Five Diamond central station. Pure-software MNS platforms can’t integrate physical life-safety systems. We ship the full loop, monitored end-to-end.

Active shooter, severe weather, fire, lockdown — most organizations bought four notification tools and none of them talk to each other

The mass-notification problem is rarely “how do we send a text message.” It’s “how do we trigger the right notification automatically when a fire panel trips, when a panic button fires, when a verified intrusion is happening, and when severe weather is incoming — without depending on the operations team to remember the right script at 2 a.m.”

Pure-software MNS vendors (Everbridge, AlertMedia, Raptor) ship messaging. They don’t integrate fire panels. They don’t integrate duress events from access control. They don’t ride on a 24/7 UL-listed central station for human-in-the-loop escalation. They are great at sending messages — but they aren’t a life-safety system.

CITADEL Alert is engineered as a life-safety system. Armorstack designs and installs the notification fabric in-house. We integrate it with CITADEL Fire, Access, Watch, and external triggers. We route monitored escalation through Becklar’s UL 827 central station. One vendor for design, install, integration, and 24/7 monitored signal handling — instead of four.

Armorstack is a true integrator. We are not a reseller and we are not a branded front-end. The design engineer, the installer, the service technician, and the customer success contact all sit inside the same shop.

Capabilities & credentials

In-house design & install

Armorstack designs the notification platform, the integration paths, and the fan-out plan in-house. Not a reseller of someone else’s MNS software — engineered against the physical-system stack we already install.

Hybrid with Becklar

Backed by Becklar’s UL 827 listed and TMA Five Diamond central station for 24/7 monitored signal handling. Software platforms that don’t have a central-station back-end can’t do verified, monitored escalation.

Trigger integration

Fire panel trips, access-control duress events, intrusion alarms, video-verified events, environmental sensors, and manual panic activations all wired to the same notification fan-out.

Channel fan-out

SMS, voice, mobile app, desktop, email, overhead paging, digital signage, and integrated lockdown through CITADEL Access. The fan-out plan is engineered per event type.

Alyssa’s Law alignment

K-12 panic-button and integrated mass-notification programs aligned with Alyssa’s Law requirements in adopting states, and with reasonable-precaution analogs in non-adopting states.

Healthcare code integration

Code blue, code red, lockdown, and infant-abduction notification integrated with nurse call (CITADEL Care), access (CITADEL Access), and overhead paging.

Scope of service

  • Mass notification platform design and install — engineered in-house, not resold.
  • UL 827 central station integration — through Becklar wholesale partnership.
  • Trigger integration — fire (CITADEL Fire), access-control duress (CITADEL Access), intrusion (CITADEL Watch), video-verified events, environmental, and manual panic.
  • Channel fan-out engineering — SMS, voice, mobile, desktop, email, overhead paging, digital signage, lockdown.
  • Panic button and duress system installation — staff stations, classrooms, retail back-of-house.
  • K-12 Alyssa’s Law program design.
  • Healthcare code alert integration — code blue, code red, lockdown, infant abduction.
  • Enterprise event escalation workflow — engineered per event type and per organizational role.
  • Operations takeover on existing MNS deployments where the integrator-physical-system gap needs filling.

Every engagement is custom-scoped and quoted. The fan-out plan, integration depth, and monitored-signal volume drive the scope. Site assessment first, written quote second.

Where CITADEL Alert shows up

K-12 Education

Alyssa’s Law-aligned panic buttons, lockdown integration with door access (CITADEL Access), and parent/staff fan-out for severe weather, lockdown, and reunification events. Tight integration with district-wide notification policy.

Healthcare

Code blue, code red, lockdown, and infant-abduction integration with nurse call (CITADEL Care), access (CITADEL Access), and overhead paging. HIPAA-aligned audit trail on notification events.

Higher Education

Multi-building campus mass notification with severe-weather, lockdown, and reunification fan-out. Integration with campus card/access systems for area-specific notification.

Manufacturing & Corporate Campus

Plant evacuation, severe weather, active-threat, and OSHA-compliant emergency communication. Integrated with fire panel, access control, and overhead paging.

CITADEL Alert is one piece of a converged stack

CITADEL Alert works alongside the other CITADEL services and Armorstack’s broader Managed Intelligence Provider portfolios. Most clients start with one and converge over time. Armorstack is a true integrator — we own the design, the install, the service, and the customer relationship.

SENTRY

Notification trigger events feed the SOC. Patterns across panic activations, lockdown initiations, and verified events become security telemetry — not just operations work orders.

CORE

The notification platform runs on the same network we engineer with CITADEL Connect and keep up with CITADEL Power. Notification is part of the IT infrastructure, not bolted onto the side.

VERITY

vCISO and vCIO advisory mapping notification program against state law (Alyssa’s Law, K-12 safety statutes), HIPAA, OSHA, and incident-response policy. Program design, not just technology install.

CITADEL Fire

Fire panel trips trigger mass notification fan-out automatically. The fire alarm and the notification fabric are integrated at the panel — not at the dispatcher.

Standards we build to

  • UL 2572 — Mass Notification System equipment standard.
  • UL 827 — Central station partnership listing applies to monitored notification signals.
  • NFPA 72 — National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code — emergency communication system chapter.
  • Alyssa’s Law — Panic-button and notification requirements (varies by state).
  • HIPAA — Healthcare notification audit trail alignment.
  • OSHA — Industrial emergency communication compliance.

What we are doing right now

Active K-12 Alyssa’s Law-aligned panic and notification deployments. Healthcare code-alert integration work. Multi-building campus and corporate notification rollouts integrated with fire, access, and intrusion.

Operations-takeover work on existing MNS platforms where the integrator-physical-system gap needed to be filled — typically a software-only vendor brought us in to run the physical integration we both knew they couldn’t.

FAQ

What makes CITADEL Alert different from Everbridge or AlertMedia?

Pure-software mass notification platforms (Everbridge, AlertMedia, Raptor) are great at messaging but they don’t integrate physical life-safety systems. They can’t trigger from a fire panel, an access-control duress event, or a verified intrusion. CITADEL Alert is a hybrid — Armorstack designs and installs the notification fabric in-house, integrates it with CITADEL Fire, Access, and Watch, and routes monitored signals through Becklar’s UL 827 central station. We ship the full life-safety loop, monitored end-to-end.

Are you Alyssa’s Law aligned for K-12?

Yes. CITADEL Alert deploys panic-button systems and integrated mass notification aligned with Alyssa’s Law requirements in states that have adopted it (and reasonable-precaution analogs in states that haven’t). Panic activation routes to law-enforcement dispatch through our central-station partner and to mass notification across the campus.

Can you trigger notification from fire, access, and intrusion events?

Yes. That’s the integration play. A fire panel trip, an access-control duress event, an intrusion alarm, or a verified video event can each trigger configurable mass notification fan-out through SMS, voice, mobile app, desktop, and overhead paging — automatically, before the operations team has even acknowledged the event.

Do you do 24/7 monitored signal handling?

Yes. Monitored signals route through Becklar — UL 827 listed and TMA Five Diamond designated. The same operator network that handles intrusion and fire signals also handles mass-notification escalation when the event requires human-in-the-loop response.

What channels do you fan out to?

SMS, voice (mobile and desktop), mobile push, email, desktop pop-up, overhead paging (where infrastructure is in place), digital signage, and integrated lockdown across CITADEL Access access points. The fan-out plan is engineered per client based on the event type — fire is different from active-threat is different from severe weather.

Can you take over an existing MNS deployment?

Yes. We take over operations on existing mass notification platforms — frequently because the original integrator was a software-only vendor that didn’t engineer the physical-system integration the client actually needed. Standard transition is four to eight weeks depending on existing system depth.

What verticals do you cover?

K-12, higher education, healthcare, government, manufacturing, and corporate campus environments. Each has different code requirements (Alyssa’s Law for K-12, HIPAA for healthcare, OSHA for industrial) and different fan-out plans.

How do I get pricing?

Every CITADEL Alert engagement is custom-scoped and quoted. The fan-out plan, integration depth, panic-button count, and monitored-signal volume all change the scope. Site assessment first, written line-item quote second. No packages, no published pricing.
