CITADEL Fire — Life Safety

NICET-Certified Fire Alarm Design, Installation & Inspection

A true integrator’s fire alarm program — designed by NICET Level 3, installed by NICET-staffed crews, inspected to NFPA 72, and monitored through a UL 827 & TMA Five Diamond central station. One contract, one SLA, one team that also runs your access, video, notification, and structured cabling.

Most retail and grocery portfolios are paying the Integration Tax

Fire alarm equipment from one vendor. ITM from a second. Monitoring from a third. AHJ-compliance reporting glued together by an internal team that didn’t sign up to be a fire alarm coordinator. When a sensor trips at 2 a.m., three different vendors point at each other.

CITADEL Fire consolidates fire alarm design, installation, NICET-certified inspection, and UL 827 monitoring under a single Armorstack contract — with real-time ITM documentation, AHJ-ready records, and one phone number that owns the whole loop.

Armorstack is a true integrator. We are not a monitoring reseller and we are not a branded front-end. The design engineer, the installer, the NICET inspector, and the customer success contact all sit inside the same shop.

Capabilities & credentials

Certifications

NICET Level 2 and NICET Level 3 certified fire alarm technicians on staff. The Level 2 + Level 3 combination supports routine ITM at scale and complex engineered design simultaneously — most regional shops carry one or the other.

Equipment

Potter Electric Signal installer for new design and installation. Brand-agnostic for ITM and service work — we maintain and inspect any major fire alarm manufacturer’s system.

Licensure

Licensed fire alarm contractor in Iowa. Wisconsin does not require a fire alarm contractor license. Active expansion through the upper midwest. Multi-state work executed through prime-contractor partnerships where appropriate.

Standards

NFPA 72 compliant inspection, test, and maintenance. AHJ-ready documentation. UL 864 listed equipment. Monitoring through UL 827 listed and TMA Five Diamond central station partnership.

Multi-Site Capacity

Active multi-site fire alarm deployments across national retail and grocery portfolios delivered through prime-contractor partnerships. Project-management depth to coordinate AHJs, schedules, and documentation across many sites.

Out of scope

CITADEL Fire does not install sprinkler, clean-agent, or kitchen hood suppression systems. We name this explicitly because honest scope is faster than walking back a missed expectation. Partner referrals available for suppression.

Scope of service

  • Fire alarm design and engineering — NICET Level 3 led, NFPA 72 compliant, AHJ-coordinated.
  • Installation — Potter Electric Signal equipment, NICET-staffed install crews.
  • Inspection, test, and maintenance (ITM) — NICET-certified, NFPA 72 compliant, brand-agnostic, with electronic AHJ-ready documentation.
  • Multi-site fire alarm rollout — national retail, grocery, and enterprise portfolio deployments.
  • Sub-contracted national deployments — wholesale capacity for prime contractors who need an integrator with NICET depth and multi-state reach.
  • Monitored fire alarm service — through Armorstack’s UL 827 and TMA Five Diamond central-station partnership.
  • Service takeover — we take over ITM and service on systems we did not install when an incumbent contractor stops responding.

Every engagement is custom-scoped and quoted. No packages, no published pricing, no scope-range bands. Site assessment first, written line-item quote second.

Where CITADEL Fire shows up

Retail & Grocery

National multi-site fire alarm rollouts and ITM. Active deployments across national grocery and retail portfolios through prime-contractor partnerships. Built for portfolios where AHJ coordination across dozens of jurisdictions is the actual hard problem.

Healthcare & Senior Living

Hospital and senior-living fire alarm design, install, and ITM. Tight integration with CITADEL Care nurse call and CITADEL Alert mass notification — code blue, smoke detection, and lockdown events on a single notification fabric.

K-12 & Higher Education

Campus fire alarm refresh, dorm and academic-building ITM, and integration with CITADEL Alert (Alyssa’s Law-aligned mass notification) and CITADEL Access access control for full life-safety convergence.

Manufacturing

Plant fire alarm design and ITM with hazardous-area considerations, integration with plant evacuation and emergency communication, and coordination with industrial AHJs.

Fire is one piece of a converged stack

CITADEL Fire works alongside the other CITADEL services and Armorstack’s broader Managed Intelligence Provider portfolios. Most clients start with one and converge over time.

SENTRY

Fire event telemetry feeds the SOC. Anomalous trip patterns, supervisory faults, and panel tampering surface as security signals — not just maintenance work orders.

CITADEL Alert

Fire panel events trigger mass notification through the same in-house fabric backed by Becklar — one event, full fan-out across SMS, voice, mobile, desktop, and overhead paging.

CORE

Fire alarm runs on the same low-voltage and IP infrastructure that carries CITADEL Connect cabling and CITADEL Power UPS plant. One closet, one plan.

VERITY

vCISO and vCIO advisory mapping fire program against HIPAA, K-12 safety law, retail compliance, and broader life-safety governance.

Standards we build to

  • NFPA 72 — National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code. The standard our ITM, design, and installation work is measured against.
  • NICET — National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies. Our staff carries Level 2 and Level 3 fire alarm certification.
  • UL 864 — Equipment listing for fire alarm control units and accessories.
  • UL 827 — Central station alarm services listing. Our monitoring back-end (Becklar) is UL 827 listed.
  • TMA Five Diamond — The Monitoring Association’s top-tier central-station designation. Our monitoring back-end carries it.
  • State and local AHJ requirements — Coordinated and documented per jurisdiction.

What we’re doing right now

Active multi-site fire alarm deployments across national retail and grocery portfolios delivered through prime-contractor partnerships. Active ITM contracts across the upper midwest. Service takeovers from incumbent contractors who stopped responding to clients.

Where we are wholesale (sub-contracted to a prime), our prime partners do not permit named-client references — and we honor that. The work is real, the credentials are real, and the references are available under NDA on a qualified-prospect basis.

If you want references, contact us — we will introduce you to active clients who have given permission to be referenced privately.

FAQ

Are your fire alarm technicians NICET certified?

Yes. CITADEL Fire staff includes NICET Level 2 and NICET Level 3 certified fire alarm technicians. NICET certification is the industry standard for fire alarm design and inspection competency, and our staffing combination supports both routine ITM work and complex engineered system design.

Do you handle multi-site fire alarm rollouts for national retail and grocery portfolios?

Yes. CITADEL Fire has active multi-site fire alarm deployments across national retail and grocery portfolios delivered through prime-contractor partnerships. We have the staffing, NICET depth, and project-management capacity to execute as the integrator on multi-state rollouts.

What fire alarm equipment do you install?

CITADEL Fire is a Potter Electric Signal installer. Potter is the equipment line we standardize on for new design and installation work. For ITM and service, we work on systems from any major manufacturer — the inspection, test, and maintenance scope is brand-agnostic.

What states are you licensed in?

CITADEL Fire is a licensed fire alarm contractor in Iowa. Wisconsin does not require a fire alarm contractor license. We are actively expanding licensure through the upper midwest. For multi-site work outside our directly-licensed footprint, we operate as the integrator on prime-contractor partnerships where the prime carries state licensure.

Do you do fire suppression?

No. CITADEL Fire scope covers fire alarm design, installation, ITM, and monitoring. We do not install sprinkler, clean-agent, or kitchen hood suppression systems. We have partner referrals available for suppression scope.

Do you offer monitored fire alarm service?

Yes. Monitored fire alarm service is delivered through Armorstack’s UL 827 and TMA Five Diamond central-station partnership. The monitoring back-end, the inspection team, the installers, and the design engineers are all under one Armorstack contract.

How do I get pricing?

Every CITADEL Fire engagement is custom-scoped and quoted. We do not publish pricing, packages, or scope-range bands because every site, jurisdiction, and portfolio scope is different. Contact us for a site assessment and a written, line-item quote.

Can you take over service on a fire alarm system you didn’t install?

Yes. NICET-certified ITM scope is brand-agnostic. If your incumbent fire alarm contractor has stopped responding or is missing inspection cycles, we can take over service on the system you already own — and document everything to NFPA 72 and AHJ requirements.
